Inferno 2016 will be twelve days of action-packed fun, with a selection of activities simmering day and night to keep you and your new mates busy!
The Venture is split into two sections: Phase One and Phase Two.

The first half of Inferno 2016 is Phase One: The Expeditions.
You'll spend the first night on site in Rotorua, getting to know your fellow Venturers and getting organised for departing for your expeditions the next day!
Want to extend an existing passion? Or keen to try something completely new? The Inferno 2016 Programme Team has worked hard to ensure there is a furnace full of hot activities for you to choose from! Here are the 30 on offer:
Some Expeditions may even help you earn a recognised qualification - such as Dive In and an open water dive ticket - or even help you with elements of the Venturer Award Scheme. You can be sure that each Expedition will showcase the best of the North Island, with plenty of adrenaline, touring, scenery and fun.
Check out the Phase One page for full details, and rest easy that our volunteer programme planners have considered every taste and budget.
After selecting your preferred Phase One adventure, you will be split into Expedition Units: groups of 9 Venturers (a mix of age, nationality and gender) and one lucky Leader.
Then you fire off together into 5 days of sizzling hot Expedition fun! You will cook, camp and socialize with your Expedition Unit; complete various activities and challenges; maybe even go up against other Units for Expedition bragging rights!
With the Phase One Expeditions completed, everyone returns to the Venture Site on the outskirts of Rotorua for Phase Two, bubbling with boundless stories to share and eager to argue that their own Expedition was the best!
Imagine 1000+ teenagers in one place, sparking with enthusiasm as they vent their energy through an extensive range of on-site activities, off-site adventures, and evening events. Above all, Phase Two provides five days of choice for you to choose how to spend your time. It can be as adventurous (or not!) as you like, with as many activities (or time to socialize!) as you wish. The hardest part will be fitting it all in!
The Inferno 2016 Venture site will be bursting with activities that you simply rock up and try for as long as you like, as many times as you like. Almost all are included in your Venture fee, and those that are not (eg: paintball) are at mates-rates.
Some of the on-site activities in the past have included: (take a deep breath!) canoeing and kayaking, rockclimbing and abseiling, aerial crate stacking, construction and destruction zones, archery, swimming and watersports, challenge valley and horizontal bungy (phew!) The social hub will be sparking with pool tables, table tennis and arcade games to challenge your mates with. The Rover Cafe will be a hot-spot, serving up your favourite snacks all day and night to make sure you have fire in the belly. In 2013, a local radio station came on-site to broadcast nationally, with Venturers playing announcer and DJ all day, every day! You can do as little or as much as you like - plenty of time to drop in and try something adventurous, as well as spending time hanging with old friends and new.
Like a kettle under full steam, you will whistle loudly at the range of activities on offer to get you off-site for a half/full-day. Explore Rotorua...soak in the hot pool...maybe race a mate on the luge...bounce downhill in the Zorb...
More details will be bellowed from the Inferno 2016 Programme Team soon, but rest assured there will be plenty of choice (and pricing options). You will have a devil of a time fitting them all in!
Ventures are famous for being non-stop, and Inferno 2016 will be no different! The action continues each day long after the mighty sun has set, with awesome night entertainment to keep things burning deep into the night. Live bands and DJs; a variety of themed nights; and plenty of secrets (did someone whisper a Region vs Region mini-Olympics?) are in store to make sure your five nights on Phase Two are on fire.
